There’s a new TICK IN TOWN…and this one’s carrying a serious bacterial infection.
Local veterinarian Courtney Thomas.
So far, the tick has only been found in one location in Ontario, Long Point Campground on Lake Erie. Four dogs in our region have had it. Symptoms include not eating, a rash and running a fever but it can be treated with the same antibiotic as lyme disease. Thomas fills us in.
Humans can get Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever as well…and just like dogs, it can be serious if not treated.
