Norfolk County Council received an update on the Norfolk-Haldimand Community Hospice on Tuesday.
CEO Andrea Binkle gave a deputation on the matter, saying drawings are in, and they hope to have a shovel in the ground by June of next year.
She then went over the next steps.
She also showed photos of what they hope the hospice will look like and gave them a sneak peak of what they could expect walking through the front door.
She said they are building right now for 10 beds, despite only being approved so far to operate 4.
She said they wanted to be prepared for the future and not have to go out again and ask for more funding.
Binkle did make an ask of council to make a commitment of 5 percent of the project, or roughly $700,000, but that will be discussed at a future council meeting.
