Communities across Ontario, including Grand Bend, came together on Sunday, September 6th, for the annual Walk for Parkinson’s. The event united people in raising awareness and supporting those living with the disease.
This year, 14 walks were held across the province, and donations are still being counted. So far, the total has reached $540,000, bringing organizers very close to their goal of $555,250.
Money raised through the walks stays local and plays an important role in the work of the Parkinson’s Society. The funds support research projects, educational workshops, online resources, and regional support groups that help improve the lives of people living with Parkinson’s in local communities.
