Clinton is getting ready to celebrate Harvest Fest on Saturday, September 20th. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and promises a full day of free family fun in the heart of the community.
Community Improvement Coordinator for Central Huron, and Organizer, Angela Smith explains the event.
Younger kids can enjoy bouncy castles and pony rides, while older kids and teens can try axe throwing or test their skills on a climbing wall. Live music will also fill the downtown, with a cover band playing favourites from the 70s to today.
Smith says the goal is to make the event welcoming for everyone.
This year’s Harvest Fest will include a Sensory Friendly Zone, designed for families who need a quieter space.
Smith says this addition has been so successful it has inspired other communities across Ontario to create similar spaces.
She mentioned the idea for the sensory zone came from a local discovery.
The event is also about supporting local businesses.
Volunteers are needed to help with parking, face painting, setup, and cleanup. Smith says anyone can get involved, and no experience is necessary.
The only cost for the day will be food from the trucks on site. Everything else is completely free, making Harvest Fest a true community celebration.
