Your Money, Your Community Feature with Realtor Mike Sloan of Royal LePage in Grand Bend.
Sloan says his path into real estate began while teaching at Fanshawe College. Driving past student rental homes each day sparked his interest, and before long, he purchased a few rentals himself. A positive experience with his own realtors eventually inspired him to get licensed and join the profession.
Living and working in a rural area has given Sloan a deep appreciation for the west coast of Ontario. He said a big part of his role is marketing. Sloan also highlights the importance of his three-step approach to marketing: strong photos and media, detailed information, and telling the story of the home.
Beyond business, Sloan is deeply connected to the community. He lives in Grand Bend and has children involved in hockey in Exeter and Zurich. He said he has seen how the area has changed as new people and businesses arrive but believes growth and new generations are a positive thing. “
For Sloan, giving back to the community is about more than business.
