It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against Mount Brydges tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Exeter Hawks returning forward Carter Bowerman says it is a dream come true to play for his hometown team. The 21-year-old centre, wearing number 16, has been on the ice since a young age.
Bowerman will have an added role this year as he has been named an assistant captain.
Bowerman says being a centre is the perfect fit for him, since the position demands both offensive and defensive play.
The Hawks’ roster is filled with familiar faces this season, many of whom Bowerman has grown up playing alongside.
He describes the team chemistry as “really tight” and says the bond between players is already strong.
Looking ahead to the new season, Bowerman’s goal is clear.
He also spoke about the importance of the Hawks’ fan base.
This Friday’s home game will be extra special as the Hawks honor the 30th anniversary of the team that won the OHAs. For Bowerman, it’s especially meaningful.
His message to fans ahead of the big night was simple.
Go tonight and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter.
