The South Huron Fire Department is taking part in the province-wide safety campaign “Saved by the Beep,” also called Test Your Smoke Alarms Day, on Saturday, September 28th.
Deputy Fire Chief Mike Herbert said the campaign reminds residents how important working smoke alarms are. He noted that common mistakes include poor placement and failing to replace alarms when they reach the end of their lifespan.
Residents are asked to mark September 28 on their calendars and take a few minutes to press the test button on their smoke alarms.
