The Avon Maitland District School Board is inviting the community to take part in the 4th Annual Feast, happening Sunday, October 5th, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at 62 Chalk Street North in Seaforth.
The free event is a chance for people to come together and celebrate Indigenous culture through food, music, teachings, and hands-on learning. Indigenous Education Lead Matt Baker said the day is about connection and celebration, welcoming everyone to join in.
Guests will enjoy an afternoon filled with drumming, singing, traditional powwow dancing, cultural workshops, and guest speakers including Chief Conrad Ritchie, Kris Keeshig, and Paul Nadjiwon. Vendors will also be on-site with items available for purchase, along with door prizes and opportunities to learn from Knowledge Carriers and members of the Indigenous Education Team.
The first 200 people who register will receive a free meal, with food provided on-site by Chiblow Fish. Registration is required by September 29 through a simple online form.
