It’s Crabby Joe’s game day. The Exeter Hawks face off against Alymer tonight at 8pm at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
The Exeter Hawks are proud to have a hometown player on their roster this season, with centerman Justin Skirten wearing number 20.
Skirten, who grew up in Exeter, started playing hockey from a young age.
His journey has taken him through local teams, AAA, and Junior B, including three years with the Komoka Kings, where he served as captain. Last season he was traded to the Strathroy Rockets before joining the Hawks this year.
Now back in his hometown, Skirten says playing for Exeter has been a special experience.
This season is also special for Skirten as he has been named assistant captain.
The centerman says the team bond is strong, with many of his current teammates being longtime friends.
For Skirten, the highlight of being a Hawk is simple: Friday night home games.
Though serving a suspension and unable to play in tonights game, Skirten says he will be in the stands cheering on his teammates with the fans.
Go tonight and cheer on your hometown Hawks! Come before or after the game and fuel up at Crabby Joe’s in Exeter.
