UPDATE: Police are investigating after a threat was made at F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham on the morning of Monday, October 6th.
Just before 9 a.m., Huron County OPP received a call about a student who had threatened another student. As a precaution, school officials placed the school in a “hold and secure” while staff and police searched the property for the suspect.
Officers found the suspect shortly after and made an arrest. A 16-year-old from Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with assault with a weapon. Because the accused is a youth, their identity is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Police are investigating after a threat was made by a student at F.E. Madill Secondary School in Wingham this morning (Monday, October 6th).
Huron County OPP say they were called just before 9 a.m. after a student threatened another student. As a precaution, the school went into a “hold and secure” while staff and police searched the property.
The suspect was found and arrested a short time later. The hold and secure has since been lifted, and police say there is no threat to public safety.
