Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a Huron County man after seizing illegal drugs, weapons, and other crime-related property.
The investigation began in September 2025 when members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) began looking into illegal activity at an address in Huron East. Officers from the Huron-Perth CSCU, the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team, and Huron OPP detachment assisted with the investigation.
On September 30th, police executed three search warrants in Huron East. They seized a quantity of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine valued at more than $40,000. Other items seized included a shotgun with ammunition, imitation firearms, a scale, packaging materials, a cellphone, and $1,195 in cash. The value of these items was approximately $2,600.
As a result, a 42 year-old from Huron East, has been charged with possession of fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a shotgun, unauthorized possession of a prohibited or altered firearm with ammunition, and careless storage of a firearm. He was processed, appeared at a bail hearing, and was remanded into custody.
