As the curtain rises on a brand-new season at Simcoe Little Theatre (SLT) next month, there’s as much excitement behind the scenes as there is on stage.
The beloved community theatre has unveiled a lineup of comedy, music, and storytelling that promises something for everyone — from toe-tapping musicals to heartfelt Canadian drama.
We spoke with Nikki Wiltack, SLT’s Lead of Props, about the upcoming musicals – especially after the success of Little Shop of Horrors earlier this year.
The theatre is also set to enter a milestone year.
They are happy to continue to bring these fantastic shows all with community support.
Whether that’s helping behind the scenes, going on stage, or purchasing a ticket to keep the theatre going and continue these special productions.
Part of the draw for the theatre is just how local it is.
While you can travel outside of town to see other productions, you likely won’t see the lead actor down a grocery aisle when running errands.
Here is what you can expect at Simcoe Little Theatre.
Nice Work If You Can Get It
November 20 – December 7, 2025
Directed by Janet Dickson with Assistant Director Joanne Pond, this glittering Gershwin musical takes audiences back to the Roaring Twenties with flapper dresses, tap numbers, and mistaken identities. It’s a light-hearted, feel-good comedy — the perfect kickoff to the holiday season.
Chess: The Musical (In Concert)
March 5 – 15, 2026
Directed by Andy Dominick in his SLT debut, this special concert-style presentation focuses on the soaring music and complex emotions of the Cold War-inspired musical Chess. With unforgettable songs like “One Night in Bangkok” and “I Know Him So Well,” it’s a rare chance to experience a Broadway favorite in a unique, intimate way.
Harvest
April 30 – May 10, 2026
Written by Ken Cameron and directed by Christine Mulholland, Harvest tells the witty, heartwarming story of a retired couple whose quiet life takes an unexpected turn.
Performed by just two actors playing multiple characters, it’s a testament to both Canadian storytelling and the magic of live theatre.
Tickets for all shows will be available soon at www.simcoelittletheatre.org or through the SLT box office at 519-583-0505.
