Ontario Provincial Police Constable Craig Soldan is reminding the public to follow the rules as more e-scooters are being seen on local roads and sidewalks.
Soldan says while e-scooters are fun, fast, and easy to use, many people don’t realize there are laws that apply to them, and not every community allows them on the roads.
Soldan noted they must also follow the rules of the road.
Soldan says police are concerned about seeing children riding without helmets, sometimes with friends on the back, and weaving through traffic.
He encourages parents to make sure their children know the rules and to check with their local municipality to see if e-scooters are permitted.
