Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron is getting ready to kick off the holiday season with a bigger and better Christmas Shopping Event this year. The popular fundraiser is now in its 15th year.
Angie Steckle, Fund Development Coordinator, says the event has expanded.
Both days will take place at the South Huron Recreation Centre in Exeter.
Each year, the Christmas Shopping Event draws large crowds, and this year’s expansion means more opportunities for the community to shop, celebrate, and support youth mentoring programs.
Santa Claus will make appearances on both days, and over 60 local vendors and merchants will fill the hall.
Admission is $3 per person, with free entry for children 12 and under. All admission fees go directly toward supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs in the community.
This year, vendor registration is fully booked, and the waitlist is already long. Steckle says vendors sign up months in advance to take part.
In addition to shopping, visitors can take part in the penny sale and bake sale tables, which are run by volunteers. Baked goods are still being accepted for the bake sale.
