The popular Owl Prowl is back at Morrison Dam Conservation Area this year, with two sessions on Friday, November 7th. Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority (ABCA) is hosting the event, which includes a night hike and a chance to learn about local owls and other native species.
Wild Ontario will be a special guest, bringing live owls for the indoor portion of the event. Each session lasts about 90 minutes, with a maximum of 75 participants per session. The first session starts at 5:30 p.m., and the second at 7:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required through the ABCA website.
The event begins at the ABCA Administration Centre at 71108 Morrison Line, two kilometres east of Exeter. Participants are asked to dress for the weather, as most of the event is outdoors. Flashlights may be brought but should only be used in emergencies; ABCA also provides a limited number of red-filtered flashlights.
The Owl Prowl is family-friendly but pets are not allowed. There is no fee to attend, though donations to support conservation education programs are appreciated.
