The Ausable Bayfield Water Response Team has removed the Level 2 Low Water Advisory for the Bayfield River watershed. The team says recent rain has helped a lot, with almost twice the normal amount of rainfall for October. Around 180 millimetres of rain fell in the area, and this has helped the ground and river levels return to normal for this time of year.
However, the Ausable River and Parkhill Creek watersheds are still very dry. Stream levels there remain much lower than normal, and because of that, a Level 1 Low Water Advisory is still in place for both watersheds.
More information about Ontario’s low water response program can be found on the provincial website, and people can also visit abca.ca to see the low-water advisory tool for local conditions.
