The Huron County OPP will be working with the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, and In-Service Training staff to conduct emergency response exercises at St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School in Clinton on Friday, November 21st.
The school will be closed to students that day for a PA Day. Training will run from 9:00 a.m. to about 3:30 p.m. and will focus on high-risk scenarios, including responses to active attackers.
Members of the public may see emergency vehicles and police officers around the school during the training. Police say there is no cause for concern.
Inspector Laura Lee Brown, Huron OPP Detachment Commander, said the training is important for both public and officer safety. She added that working with schools helps improve emergency preparedness and supports the safety and wellbeing of the community.
