West Region Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing their efforts to keep holiday roads safe as the 2025 Festive RIDE campaign enters its third week. The campaign, which runs from November 20th to January 1st, 2026, aims to reduce impaired driving through increased enforcement and public education.
So far, West Region OPP officers have conducted 1,055 RIDE check events across 13 detachments. In the first two weeks of the campaign, officers laid 95 impaired driving charges and issued 39 warn-range suspensions.
Across the province, OPP officers have carried out 3,595 RIDE check events, resulting in 409 impaired driving charges and 39 warn-range suspensions.
The OPP reminds drivers that they will see an increased police presence on roads and highways throughout the campaign, with officers conducting RIDE initiatives 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The OPP encourages everyone to celebrate responsibly. If you suspect someone is driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, call 9-1-1 immediately.
