The Scott Woods Band is bringing its popular Christmas Hoedown show to Ailsa Craig on December 16th. The two-hour event will take place at the Ailsa Craig Recreation Centre and will raise money for the Ailsa Craig United Church.
Scott Woods says the Christmas Hoedown is show for the whole family.
He says the goal is simple: to bring back the warm, nostalgic feeling people get from Christmas.
Woods explained that the music is a mix of traditional Christmas songs and lively fiddle tunes.
Woods is well known for his “trick fiddling”.
This year’s performance will feature special guests, including three-time Canadian step-dancing champion Leo Stock, who also plays drums, fiddle and sings. Woods’ sister Kendra Woods Norris will be on piano and fiddle, sharing music and humour. Lead guitarist Steve Piticco, known worldwide as the “Telecaster Master,” will bring his well-known guitar skills to the stage. Vocalist Nadine Boles and her husband Gary, who plays bass, will also join the show.
The Christmas Hoedown tour is busy—47 shows in 51 days across five provinces—but Woods says each audience brings new energy.
Tickets cost $45 each, tax included. They can be bought by credit card by calling the Scott Woods Band Office at 1-855-726-8896.
