West Region OPP is warning drivers about several highway closures due to severe winter weather.
As of 4:30 p.m., police say poor visibility and dangerous road conditions have forced the closure of multiple highways across the region. Closed roads include Highway 23 from Highway 7 to Mitchell, Highway 8 between Mitchell and Stratford, Highway 4 from Exeter to Clinton, Highway 21 between Goderich and Amberley, and Highway 10 from Markdale to Flesherton.
OPP is asking motorists to avoid travelling unless it is absolutely necessary. Drivers are also encouraged to check 511on.ca for up-to-date road conditions and weather.gc.ca for the latest weather alerts.
Police say conditions can change quickly and are reminding everyone to stay safe and stay off the roads if possible.
