South Huron had a busy and successful year in 2025, with growth, new projects, and community improvements, according to Mayor George Finch.
According to Finch, one of the biggest developments was along Highway 21 north of Grand Bend.
In April came more exciting news for the municipality.
Mayor also highlighted health care initiatives.
Fire services and long-term care were other key focuses. The Dashwood Fire Hall project is moving forward, and in July, the groundbreaking for a new 160-bed long-term care home in Exeter took place. Safety improvements were made in town, including lower speed limits on urban streets and near schools and hospitals.
Funding of $5.3 million was received for the London Road South Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Expansion, which will allow up to 2,100 new homes in the south end of Exeter.
As for what’s coming in the new year? Finch says there are many things to look forward to.
Mayor encourages residents to stay positive, be thankful for their community, and focus on mental health during the winter months.
