Winter is here, and with it, snow and cold weather. Last year, bad weather caused some recycling and garbage collection routes to be delayed or cancelled. This year, the Bluewater Recycling Association is sharing tips to help keep collections on schedule.
Residents are encouraged to download the Bluewater Recycling App to get real-time updates about route changes or cancellations. Place wheelie bins in front of snowbanks, not on top or behind them, so drivers can see and reach them safely. Keep bins off the road to give snowplows space, and consider putting them at the end of your driveway.
If the weather is bad and your bins are not full, wait until your next scheduled collection day to put them out.
