Police say officers stopped a vehicle on London Road in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 28th. After speaking with the driver, officers learned the person had been drinking alcohol before driving.
The driver was arrested and taken to the Huron OPP detachment in Clinton, where breath tests were completed. Police say the results were more than twice the legal limit.
A 43-year old of London has been charged with impaired operation over 80 under the Criminal Code.
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich at a later date.
