A Central Huron resident is facing a criminal driving charge following a traffic stop in the Town of Clinton.
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say officers stopped a vehicle on Orange Street North just before 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 28th, 2025, to check the driver’s sobriety. Police say the driver was suspected of having consumed alcohol before driving and was asked to provide a breath sample.
According to police, the driver refused to provide a breath sample as required by law and was arrested. The individual was taken to the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton, where they again refused to provide breath samples.
As a result, a 28-year-old of Central Huron has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. The accused was later released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
