On December 24th, Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Huron East.
The investigation found that a 68-year-old resident of Huron East had allegedly committed criminal acts against their partner. The individual has been charged under the Criminal Code with two counts of spousal assault and one count of assault with a weapon.
The accused was processed and later released from custody. A court date has been scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
The OPP reminds the public that the charges have not been proven in court and the accused is considered innocent until proven guilty.
