A person has passed following a collision at the Bluewater Bridge in Point Edward.
Lambton County OPP say the crash happened this morning (Jan 7th), shortly after 8:00 a.m. Emergency crews, including OPP officers, Point Edward Fire Department, and Lambton EMS, responded to the westbound lanes of Highway 402 at the bridge.
Police say a 60-year-old person from London was pronounced dead at the scene.
Several westbound lanes at the Bluewater Bridge remain closed as officers continue their investigation. The closures are expected to last for several hours, and drivers should expect significant delays when crossing the bridge. Lambton OPP are asking motorists to be patient while the work continues.
The investigation is being handled by Lambton OPP with help from the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement Team. Police say more information will be shared when it becomes available.
