A Central Huron resident is facing an impaired driving charge following a traffic stop in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Huron County Ontario Provincial Police say officers conducted a traffic stop just before 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 1st, after locating a vehicle stopped on Huron Road in the Municipality of Central Huron. The driver was arrested during the investigation for impaired operation.
Police say the driver later provided breath samples at the Huron County OPP detachment in Clinton. The samples showed readings over the legal limit.
As a result, a 62-year-old of Central Huron has been charged with impaired operation over 80.
The vehicle involved was towed and impounded for seven days, and the driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days as part of the legal process.
