Norfolk County employees raised $34,903 for local charities in 2025 through the county’s long-running Dress Down Days initiative, commonly known as 3D Fridays.
The program allows employees to donate $2 each week in exchange for dressing casually on Fridays. While the contribution is small on an individual level, participation across the organization has made a significant impact, with funds collected throughout the year and distributed monthly to community organizations across Norfolk County and the surrounding region.
Donations raised through 3D Fridays are directed to a different charity each month, ensuring support reaches a wide range of causes, including health care, mental health, food security, literacy, and community services.

The Norfolk County Employee Social Committee oversees the program and is responsible for selecting recipient charities each year. The committee draws on recommendations from staff, helping ensure the organizations supported reflect causes that are meaningful to employees and the communities they serve.
Monthly donations are combined and presented as a single contribution to each selected organization, maximizing the impact of the funds raised.
County officials say the success of 3D Fridays highlights how small, consistent contributions can make a meaningful difference when combined with strong employee participation and a shared commitment to supporting local initiatives.
