United Way Perth-Huron is inviting people in Southern Huron to take part in the seventh annual Coldest Night of the Year walk in Exeter.
The event takes place on Saturday, February 28th and helps support people in the community who are experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Organizers hope to raise $65,000 to continue helping those in need.
Families, workplaces, service clubs, church groups, and friends are encouraged to register a team and start fundraising at cnoy.org. Walkers who raise more than $150, or $75 for youth under 18, will receive a Coldest Night of the Year toque.
Money raised through the Exeter walk supports the Southern Huron Connection Centre in Exeter and the Huron Homelessness Initiative. These programs provide important services such as meals, showers, laundry, and housing support for individuals and families in the community.
Event updates will be shared on the Exeter Coldest Night of the Year Facebook page. Stay tuned next week for our Interview with volunteer, Andrea Loohuizen.
