Canadian Blood Services is urging residents to donate blood this year.
Jill Gemmiti, Community Development Manager at Canadian Blood Services, says every donation makes a difference, but certain blood types are always in high demand.
She explained why there is a constant need for blood donors.
Donating blood doesn’t just help people who are sick; it can save anyone in need. She also announced Canadian Blood Services’ goal to increase donor participation.
Local blood donation events will take place in Goderich on January 22nd, in Mitchell on January 23rd, and in Clinton on February 9th.
