South Huron council has announced they have set aside $15,000 in the 2026 budget to support privately owned cemeteries in the municipality.
The funding is part of the Private Cemetery Framework, which sets clear rules on how requests are handled and how money is shared with cemeteries that are not owned by the municipality but are located within South Huron.
Applications for 2026 funding must be submitted by February 28th. Cemeteries that received funding in 2025 are also required to submit a follow-up report by the same deadline.
More details about the program are available on the cemetery section of the Municipality of South Huron’s website. Questions can also be directed to the Clerk’s Department by calling 519-235-0310 ext. 232 or by emailing cemetery@southhuron.ca
