Three people are facing charges after a drug investigation in Huron East. The investigation was carried out by the Huron-Perth Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crimes Unit, with help from several other OPP units, including the Grey-Bruce unit, the West Region Emergency Response Team, the West Region K-9 unit, and members of the Huron OPP detachment.
Police say the investigation led officers to a home on Main Street South in Seaforth. On February 10th, officers conducted a traffic stop in Huron East. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and drug-related offences. The passenger was also arrested for drug-related offences. Officers later carried out a search warrant at a home in Huron East, where they seized illegal drugs and other items connected to the investigation.
Police say they seized suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, hydromorphone, psilocybin, and Adderall. The estimated street value of the drugs is $2,720. Officers also seized items such as scales, packaging materials, and a cellphone, valued at about $2,250.
A 31 year-old, of Huron East, has been charged with possession of cocaine.
A 34-year-old, also of Huron East, is charged with several offences, including possession of cocaine and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a Schedule III substance.
A 20-year-old of West Perth, is charged with impaired driving by alcohol and drugs, as well as possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.
