A special hockey game in support of Huron Hospice is coming soon to Goderich and organizers say fans will not want to miss it.
On Sunday, March 8th at 2:00 p.m., former NHL players will take on the Goderich Firefighters at the Maitland Recreation Centre. The charity game will raise money for Huron Hospice, the firefighters’ charity of choice.
The NHL alumni roster currently includes Dave McLlwain, Gary Leeman, Adam Munro, Bernie Nicholls, and Dave Hutchison. Organizers say more names could still be announced.
Doors open at 1:00 p.m., and the puck drops at 2:00 p.m. The game often sells out, so residents are encouraged to buy tickets early.
Huron Hospice provides end-of-life care both in the community and at Bender House in Clinton. Over the past year, 59 people received care at Bender House, while 45 others were supported in their homes. The organization also offers grief and bereavement programs for children, youth, and adults, with 164 people taking part in those programs last year.
Tickets are $30 each or four for $100. They can be purchased by calling Huron Hospice at 519-525-7352 or 1-888-777-9793, or by visiting ProHockeyHeroes.com.
