A call to action backed by more than 40 leading Canadian entrepreneurs sent to all levels of government, corporate entities and various institutions is urging faster movement on building with a focus on delivery.
The memo, issued by Build Canada and titled Go!, notes Canada “is still governing with habits built for calmer times.” It urges Canada move at “crisis speed” with a focus on getting things built, changing expectations and shifting norms about how we do things, all while bringing builders into the room so policy reflects real-world conditions.
Build Canada CEO Lucy Hargreaves outlines the motivation behind the memo’s issuance.
Hargreaves says the memo is asking for three shifts, one of which is focusing on execution.
Hargreaves says this isn’t a time for more talk and rhetoric.
