The Municipality of Bluewater is holding a public meeting on a proposed minor variance in Bayfield.
The meeting will take place on Monday, March 16th, at 6:30 p.m. It will be a hybrid meeting, meaning residents can attend in person or online. In-person attendance will be at Council Chambers at the Stanley Community Centre, 38594 Mill Road in Varna.
The application, listed as MV06-2025, involves a property at 36–40 Deer Ridge Lane in Bayfield. The public meeting will be held during a special Committee of Adjustment meeting.
The owner is asking for a minor variance to reduce the required interior side yard setback. The current zoning by-law requires a three-metre setback on the unattached side of a multiple-unit dwelling in an area zoned Residential Medium Density (R2-9). The applicant is requesting permission to reduce that setback to 1.5 metres to allow more space for a proposed dwelling and septic system.
The property is designated Residential in the Official Plan and is zoned Residential Medium Density (R2-9).
Residents who wish to take part in the planning process are encouraged to send written comments, questions or concerns by March 3rd. Comments can be emailed to planning@huroncounty.ca or sent to Planning Coordinator Lindsay Whalen.
For more information, residents can contact the Municipality of Bluewater office at 14 Mill Avenue in Zurich by calling 519-236-4351 ext. 235. They can also contact the Huron County Planning Department at 1-888-524-8394 ext. 3. Anyone wishing to attend the meeting in person or electronically is asked to contact the Planning Coordinator in advance.
