The Huron Chamber of Commerce has announced a new program aimed at supporting women leaders across Huron County.
The new Women’s Leadership Initiative was launched on the eve of International Women’s Day. The program will focus on helping women who are already in leadership roles, while also supporting those who hope to take on leadership positions in the future.
The initiative will look for ways to strengthen leadership opportunities for women in business, non-profit groups, and other areas of community life. It will be guided by a committee of local women leaders and shaped by feedback from women across the region.
The Chamber is now forming a committee of women from across the county to help guide the initiative. The group will work to identify priorities and develop programs that reflect the needs of people living and working in a rural region.
One event is already planned as part of the initiative. The Chamber will host its first Women’s Leadership Initiative event on October 1st at the White Carnation in Holmesville. Organizers say the event will officially launch the program and is expected to become an annual gathering.
Over the coming months, the Chamber plans to gather input from women across the county through conversations, surveys, and community outreach. That feedback will help shape future networking opportunities, educational programs, and mentorship activities as the initiative grows.
