A Lambton Shores resident is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic stop over the weekend.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police say the stop happened on March 22nd, just before 9 p.m. on Lakeshore Road near Jenna Road in the Municipality of Lambton Shores.
Police say the investigation led to the arrest of a 68-year-old from Kettle and Stoney Point. He has been charged with impaired operation and driving with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit.
As part of the penalties, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Sarnia.
Police say they remain committed to removing impaired drivers from the roads through enforcement and education. Drivers are reminded that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when driving, and anyone who suspects an impaired driver should contact the OPP.
