Ontario’s police watchdog is now investigating an incident in Clinton following an arrest by local officers.
The Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate after an arrest by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron County detachment.
Police say the incident happened early this morning around 1:30 a.m. An individual who was in custody on outstanding warrants went into medical distress and needed help. The person was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.
Because the SIU is now investigating, the OPP says it cannot share any more details at this time.
Anyone with questions about the investigation is asked to contact the SIU directly.
