The St. Anne’s Catholic Secondary School Concert Band is celebrating a strong start to its spring performance season.
The 33-member band earned a gold standing at the first-ever Ontario’s West Coast Music Fest regional qualifier, held March 11th at the Blyth Festival Theatre. The result has earned the group an invitation to compete at the national level in Niagara Falls later this year, and in Calgary in 2027.
The band continued its success on April 9th, taking first place in its category at the Stratford Kiwanis Festival.
The busy season continues with several upcoming events on April 15th and at Huronview on April 22nd.
The school’s annual “May Melodies” concert will take place May 7th at 6:30 p.m. in the St. Anne’s gym. The event will feature multiple school music groups and performers. Admission is a suggested five-dollar donation, with free entry for children under 12.
The concert band will wrap up its season at MusicFest Nationals in Niagara Falls on May 11th, where they will compete against top secondary school bands from across Canada.
