A popular community event is returning to Seaforth, bringing together food, fun, and support for a good cause.
The Seaforth and District Food Bank is getting ready to host its annual Souper Saturday this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Seaforth Community Centre.
Board member Bill Wallace explains the event.
In addition to the soup tasting, there will be a dessert auction with around 35 items, including cakes, pies, and breads.
Souper Saturday has been running since around 2010, with a short break during the COVID-19 pandemic. Wallace says the event raises about $12,000 each year.
He adds the event is also important because it gives people a chance to come together.
There is no admission fee to attend. Visitors can bring a non-perishable food donation if they wish, and soup tasting tickets will be available at the door.
The food bank continues to see a growing need in the community. Wallace told myFM how many families they helped in 2025.
Wallace says they are looking forward to welcoming the community once again for a day of food, connection, and support.
