Residents in Grand Bend can expect some relief this summer as work on the Grand Bend Bridge project reaches an important milestone.
Officials say the bridge will reopen to full traffic by June 26th, with all five lanes available, along with sidewalks on both sides. This will allow drivers and pedestrians to use the entire bridge without lane closures during the busy summer season.
Construction slowed slightly over the winter due to harsh weather, but crews are still on track to meet the summer reopening timeline.
Work on the project is expected to pause during the summer months. However, some final construction will still need to be completed afterward. Crews are set to return in September, with the full project expected to wrap up by the end of October.
The project team is thanking the community for its patience as the work continues, noting that the finish line is now in sight.
