Work continues on the Main Street construction project in South Huron, with crews making steady progress last week.
Municipal officials say work included installing a temporary watermain, removing sidewalks and curbs along the west side of Main Street, and preparing Elliott Park for upcoming storm sewer work near the Ausable River.
This week, crews are expected to finish installing and testing the temporary watermain. Storm sewer work is set to begin, and preparations will continue for a sanitary sewer bypass needed for construction at the intersection of Main Street and Church Street.
Elliott Park will remain closed while the project is underway.
Residents are also being advised of a planned full road closure at Main Street and Church Street from April 27th to May 1st. Detours will be in place, and drivers should expect delays.
