Toronto has transformed into an ice-filled scene this week, drawing crowds and curiosity from music fans across the city.
The buzz surrounds a creative promotional campaign for Canadian superstar Drake and his upcoming album Iceman. Massive blocks of ice have been placed on display, turning heads and sparking conversation as onlookers stop to take photos and wonder what’s behind the frosty spectacle.
The ice promoting the album has a strong local connection. The blocks were sourced from Huron County, specifically Hensall.
Hensall’s own, Iceculture, received an unexpected call from Drake’s team requesting help with the unique promotion. Seizing the opportunity, Iceculture quickly got to work.
More than 3,500 ice blocks were produced by Iceculture and shipped to Toronto earlier this week.
The project highlights how a small rural town can play a role in a major cultural moment. Through this icy collaboration, Hensall has found itself connected to one of the most talked-about album launches of the year.
