Fishing at Morrison Dam Conservation Area near Exeter will be temporarily closed later this month.
The closure will be in effect from April 28th to May 2nd at 8 a.m. to allow for the stocking of Rainbow Trout ahead of the Exeter Lions Club’s 40th Annual Trout Fishing Derby.
Officials say the temporary closure is meant to protect the fish and help create a better experience for young participants taking part in the long-running community event.
Organizers add that the goal is to encourage youth to enjoy the outdoors and learn more about protecting local water, wildlife, and natural spaces.
Residents are thanked for their understanding and cooperation during the closure.
