A local group in Bayfield is celebrating an important milestone after receiving the first-ever grant from the Bayfield Community Fund.
The Pioneer Park Association has been selected as the recipient of the inaugural grant through the Sunset Community Foundation. The funding, worth $2,785, was presented on April 25th during the Bayfield Lions Home and Lifestyle Show.
The grant comes from the Brigadier Morgan and Edith Smith Fund and marks the beginning of a new community-based funding program designed to support local projects.
The Pioneer Park Association plans to use the funding for its Video Archives Project. The project aims to preserve the history of Pioneer Park and highlight the many people who have helped shape it over the years.
The Bayfield Community Fund was created to help ensure local priorities are supported now and in the future.
