With nominations now open for the municipal election on October 26th, several candidates in South Huron have already entered the race.
As of 8am today, three people had filed nomination papers for mayor. Those candidates are Maureen Cole, George Finch, and Ted Oke.
For council, Patricia Desjardine-Soer has filed to run for Ward 1 councillor, while Aaron Neeb has entered the race for Ward 2 councillor.
Candidates have until August 21st, 2026, to file their nomination papers with the returning officer in order to appear on the ballot.
myFM will continue following the election and will interview candidates in the months leading up to voting day.
