While municipal election races are beginning to pick up across the region, the race in Lambton Shores is off to a slower start.
As of 5 p.m. yesterday, the municipality’s official website showed only one candidate had officially filed nomination papers for the 2026 election.
Dan Sageman has filed to run for deputy mayor and is hoping to return for another term on council.
Residents interested in running in the upcoming municipal election have until August 21st to submit their nomination papers to the returning officer.
Voting day for the 2026 municipal election will take place on October 26th.
