Lambton County OPP are continuing to investigate a water-related emergency at The Pinery Provincial Park after a reported incident on Lake Huron on Monday afternoon.
Police say emergency crews were called to the park shortly after 3 p.m. after reports that a raft carrying five people was in distress on the water.
According to investigators, two people were able to swim safely back to shore, while two others returned to the raft. One person remains missing.
Search efforts are ongoing with support from the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, along with local emergency crews working together in the area.
Police say there is no risk to public safety, but residents and visitors may notice an increased emergency presence near the park while the search continues.
Officials say only limited information is being released at this time as the investigation is still active and out of respect for those involved. More details will be shared when they become available.
