Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services is working to preserve the history of the Grand Bend Fire Hall, with help from the community.
Fire Captain Todd Mellin says efforts are underway to gather information about the department’s past, including records that date back to around 1968 and details about past members of the fire service.
The project also aims to collect memories and information about the early days of the fire hall, including its original location on Main Street in Grand Bend.
Captain Mellin says the response so far has been positive, with residents sharing information through social media and helping fill in gaps in the department’s history.
Anyone with photos, documents, or stories about the Grand Bend Fire Hall is encouraged to reach out through the Grand Bend Fire Department Association’s social media page.
