A 24-year-old Mississauga resident is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop in Grand Bend.
Members of the Lambton County OPP were on general patrol just before 7:40 p.m. on May 18th when they stopped a vehicle on Main Street West.
As a result of the investigation, police charged the driver with operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and failure or refusal to comply with a demand.
Police also issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and impounded the vehicle for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Sarnia at a later date.
Lambton OPP says officers remain committed to removing impaired drivers from local roads through enforcement and public education. Police are also reminding drivers that no amount of alcohol or drugs is safe when operating a vehicle.
Anyone who suspects an impaired driver is encouraged to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
